Will the real social media sherpas please stand up?

Get Social Media Guide 2009 is a step by step guide to business success using social media marketing.

————————————————————————

If you are here to get a copy of the guide that everyone’s banging on about, go straight here.

————————————————————————

The idea of using social media to grow our businesses (read – ‘make more money’) has crept up on most of us like a stalking panther. I always knew it would arrive. I kept myself busy with other things, assuming it would announce itself when it got here.

One day about two years ago, I peeped through the curtains and the social media panther was knocking on my door.

So, social media is here, and looks here to stay. Along with it has come a new language that takes some getting used to and that is evolving daily. More radically, it has brought with it the news that the face of online marketing has changed. Forever. That the traditional gatekeepers have left the building. That marketing is no longer just broadcasting and interrupting. It is listening, engaging and having real conversations.

Inbound marketing has arrived and we find that a website presence no longer covers that much of the ever expanding ball park. The many groups hanging out on the field will never get to hear about you or your website unless someone in every group knows about it and is talking about it.

That’s the opportunity that social media represents. It connect groups of people to you and to what you offer. The trick is where do I start? Which social media should I focus on? How do I find my people? Which parts can I measure?

Rather than bang on about this for hours, you can get ALL the low down in a guide that I’ve posted up online. If you are serious about using social media to really grow your business in 2009, then download your copy of the VERY detailed, step by step guide right now.

Download it, read it, and let me know what you think. Get your copy of the guide here.

Just read your 10 step guide and I found it of great value, quick and easy to read. Next step as a small business owner is to to practically apply the exercises, execute and get involved.
I will circulate your link to my network and support the cause.

I loved this guide. I feel like a guru! I know that may be pushing it, but, I feel much more comfortable advising clients than I did two days ago. It confirmed that I was going in the right direction. Thanks for the tips!

Valuable, actionable guide that provides not only the details but also the overarching strategy of using social media today. There are lots of questionable “free reports” out there. This one is thoughtful and useful.

Philip, this is an excellent guide to social media that is not only applicable to small business owners but also has so much worthwhile information for the corporate enterprise. Your step-by-step approach is incredibly comprehensive in that it not only tells HOW to implement social media, but also outlines WHAT tools to use to accomplish each step. I’m glad to share this with my colleagues. Thanks!

Hi Philip

Thanks for taking my call earlier in the week – as a ‘beginner’ I found the guide very useful and informative – I see what you mean by adding value!
Please can you put me on the mailing list for future courses – I live on the Garden Route so Cape Town is closest.
Many thanks

Tori

Hello Philip – I’ve already e-mailed you regarding when an updated version of your Social Media Guide 2009 will be published (you indicated an updated version would be published in early 2011) but I just wanted to let you know what my business is about. I’m a soon-to-be corporate refugee in the early phases of launching a coaching/consulting practice aimed at helping small businesses to grow without spending more money on traditional mass market advertising. The approach I use is based on a system developed by a protege of Jay Abraham, one of the most prominent marketing consultants in the U.S. Instead of encouraging businesses to throw more money at (often ineffective) traditional advertising, the system emphasizes identifying and then leveraging “hidden marketing assets” that already exist in the business as a means of achieving growth. The concept of leveraging personal and professional networks (both one’s own as well as the networks of one’s customer base) which social media is largely based on would certainly fall into the category of a hidden marketing asset and while I’m definitely a “newbie” when it comes to social media, your guide has been a fantastic introduction into what promises to be a revolutionary business tool. I look forward to learning more and to “dipping my toe into the water” of social media for both myself as well as my future clients. Best regards and thanks again for what I’m sure was a monumental effort in creating the Social Media Guide.

Hi Phil

I have now had some time to study THE guide and it is very informative and professional. In fact, I am planning to make a hard copy for bed time reading!

One suggestion: since social media are evolving (and rapidly!) all the time, and you brought out the guide two years ago, perhaps you ought to be thinking about a new edition.

Anyway, I look forward to the work by your team on our keywords.

Regards

Kit

Thanks Kit

Yup, a guide update is overdue. Finishing off a website redesign and then the guide update. Funny how much has actually stayed the same in social media. Some new stuff to include though…
